2011-2012 Annual Report: Bill O'Brien
Bill O'Brien, the executive director of the Harriet Tubman Center, is dedicated to helping youth in Detroit organize, so they can impact their futures. He's one of our Tenacious 10. On Detroit, he says: "There's new hope, but there's still discouragement caused by abandoned houses, crime and poverty. There is a lack of a real strong coherent voice for the 750,000 people in the city. Their future -- and the future of the city -- is tied to whether or not they can have a voice."
