The Community Connections Small Grants program is an initiative that awards grants of $500 to $5,000 to grassroots organizations working with youth in six neighborhoods in Detroit. In March, the program, which was founded by The Skillman Foundation in 2006, passed the $2 million mark in grants awarded. Prevention Network, a Lansing-based nonprofit, administers the program.
