William Sexton is a communications fellow with the Skillman Foundation, helping to craft and implement strategies that advance its mission. In his work with the Foundation, and in life, William is driven by the belief a quality education, and the opportunities it presents, should be accessible to all.
Prior to joining the Foundation, William was a marketing intern at Grand Circus, a tech training and entrepreneurial coworking start-up in downtown Detroit. As a member of the marketing team, William helped design and implement multimedia campaigns and special events focused on student recruitment and community building. He also assisted with promotion and branding for the company’s expansion to their Grand Rapids campus.
William recently received a bachelor of business administration and minor in Afro-American and African Studies from the University of Michigan where he was also involved in high school outreach and community building among men of color on campus. Outside of his work with the Foundation, William is a sneaker aficionado, life-long Detroiter and two-time fantasy football league champ.
