About Bagley Elementary: In addition to the core curriculum students receive instruction in art, music and phys-ed. Bagley has a media center. Accelerated Math and Accelerated Reading, Math Facts and Flash are employed. "Looping" is in place so students remain with the same teacher for a number of years. Bagley promotes constructive social behavior through its Positive Behavior Initiative, based on enforcement of a social uniform policy and the Six Pillars of Behavior (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness,character and citizenship).
Mission/Vision: The Vision of Bagley Elementary is to empower students to achieve at their highest potential by creating a supportive, student-centered learning environment. The mission of this school, in collaboration with the community, is to ensure all students a quality education that allows them to compete academically on a statewide and national level. Our students will be productive and responsible citizens in our multi-cultural and technological society.
More Information: Bagley is supported by Omankane the Collective, the UAW-sponsored after-school initiative that exposes children to a variety of cultural and extra-curricular activities. Bagley also has an art program, an Open Court Reading program, Future Teachers Program and Glee Club.

About Bates Academy: Bates Academy is an examination schol for gifted/talent students. Students must demonstrate exceptional cognitive abilities and must be able to succeed academically beyond their current grade level. The academic program is designed for gifted/talent students. Core curriculum is extended using Bloom's Taxonomy as the basis for further instruction. There is a full computer lab, and journalism and Spanish language classes.
Mission/Vision: The diverse, differentiated curriculum at Bates Academy provides a child-focused learning environment. Vertical acceleration and horizontal acceleration fuel Bates' high expectations that all children achieve their fullest potential in order to compete successfully in a global environment.
More Information: After-school latchkey is available. A dress code is in place. Art classes include wartercolor, sketching, embossing and ceramics. Vocal and instrumental music are offered as well as band/orchestra, choir, dissection studies, career education, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Beyond Basic, and Kwanza. Clubs include Chess, Academic Games, Robotics, Art, Bible, Book and Principal's Honor Roll.
