Kids Matter Here -- Resident-led movement to remake six neighborhoods is in full swing

The Skillman Foundation's $100-million Good Neighborhoods program encourages the creation of safe, healthy, and vibrant neighborhoods where children -- with the support of caring adults, programs, and experiences -- can develop fully. The Foundation, with help from ordinary Detroiters and other champions, wants to remake Brightmoor, Cody/Rouge, the Northend, Osborn, and Chadsey/Condon and Vernor in Southwest Detroit, into places where kids are safe, healthy, educated and prepared for success.

The Foundation has partnered with the Metro Times to feature each month work done in our Good Neighborhoods. Check out the Metro Times once a month to get important information about events, grants and changes going on in each of the six neighborhoods.
