Let’s Talk: The Power and Potential of Youth Organizing

Young Detroiters are counted among the leaders of social movements, from civil rights to the labor movement to climate justice and beyond. To learn more about youth organizing from leaders in the field, we engaged the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing (FCYO) to lead a scan of southeast Michigan youth organizing groups and funders.

On Wednesday, June 21, we held a Let’s Talk event moderated with our Ground Building Partnership Manager, Lindsey Barrett, and panelists Evamelo OleitaWallyaldeen Alhomaidi, and Akua Hill to hear from youth organizers, discuss the findings of the southeast Michigan youth organizing scan, and explore how funders can strategically resource and support youth organizing.
