This grant will support the Michigan Education Justice Coalition (MEJC), for which 482Forward serves as a fiduciary, to strengthen its efforts to build, support and activate a statewide network committed to ensuring all Michigan students have access to equitable education funding and resources. This grant will enable MEJC to build and increase the organizing capacity of parents, youth, and educators in Michigan, with an emphasis on training and creating resources to support school board candidates in 2022 and building a multi-year plan and approach over several election cycles to build will and activation in communities across the state.
